Elementary to High School Study Permit

Welcome to Canada!

Canada is a great place to live, work, and study. For international students, Canada offers a wide range of educational opportunities, from elementary to secondary school.

Elementary Schools

Elementary schools in Canada are divided into two levels: primary and junior. Primary schools are for students aged 5 to 8, while junior schools are for students aged 8 to 12. In most provinces, elementary school is free, and students are required to attend school until they are 16.

At the elementary level, students learn the basics of reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as social studies, science, and physical education. In some provinces, students may also take French or other languages.

Secondary Schools

Secondary schools in Canada are divided into two levels: middle school and high school. Middle school is for students aged 12 to 15, while high school is for students aged 15 to 18. In most provinces, secondary school is free, and students are required to attend school until they are 18.

At the secondary level, students focus on more advanced subjects, such as mathematics, science, English, social studies, and the arts. In some provinces, students may also take French or other languages.

In addition to academic courses, secondary schools also offer a variety of extracurricular activities, such as sports, music, and drama. These activities provide students with the opportunity to explore their interests and develop their skills.
